We’ve all dreamed about making it big. Doing something that sets us apart and makes a lasting impression. Norwegian Gunnar Ryan Wiik is a dreamer. But what makes him stand out, is that he is seemingly willing to do anything to make his dreams come through.
Ryan is preparing for an enormous entrepreneurial endeavor – a plan that will change the film industry as we know it. His goal is to acquire a Spanish film studio that is no longer in operation. He dreams of producing 18 films per year here. His creative vision will challenge Hollywood itself.
But Ryan has a past. For over 10 years he worked day and night to produce a Hollywood film based on the Norwegian pulp western hero Morgan Kane. The Kane books (1966- 85) defined the Norwegian pulp scene for over three decades, selling more than 22 million copies. Ryan acquired the rights and wanted to play the lead role as the gunslinger Morgan Kane. The investors were all lined up.
Then the whole thing collapsed, leaving Ryan with little but a bad reputation.
We follow Ryan out of the smoking ashes of his failed enterprise as he straddles his bold new vision.
Will his past destroy him? Or will he clear his name?
…and will he re-emerge as a western hero?
Seven years in the making, this film is a personal portrait of a man constantly re-inventing himself in search of the ultimate creative vision.
